Advantages of PVC Entrance Doors for Homes

We often hear from clients: "I want metal entrance doors for my home with moisture-resistant MDF" or "metal doors outside, MDF inside." However, not everyone understands the drawbacks of using such doors outdoors. Most manufacturers provide a warranty of up to 3 years for these outdoor metal doors.

It is no secret that in European countries, PVC entrance doors for homes or premium aluminum entrance doors for outdoors have long been used.

What are the advantages of PVC entrance doors for outdoor use?

  • Maximum resistance to external conditions – unlike metal doors with MDF, you won’t need to worry about temperature fluctuations, direct sunlight, rain, or frost, nor about installing door canopies. These doors come with a 10-year factory warranty and are fully weather-resistant without any additional canopies.
  • PVC entrance doors for homes offer a wide variety of designs: you can choose solid doors or doors with double-glazed units (transparent, frosted, with inlays, or sandblasted patterns), decorative wrought iron grilles, and for maximum protection and quality, we recommend PVC doors with HPL panels, which provide extra strength and incorporate stainless steel trims.
  • Customize your doors – PVC doors have no size restrictions; they can be manufactured in standard or custom dimensions according to your needs.
  • Metal thickness in the profile ranges from 1.5 mm to 2 mm, depending on the selected configuration.
  • Hardware – all our doors use hinges, handles, and locks from the best European manufacturers. Handles can be either lever-type or long "bar" handles with combination locks, fingerprint scanners, or LED backlighting. Doors feature 3 strong and reliable hinges for smooth operation.
  • Thermal and sound insulation – outdoor PVC doors provide superior insulation, keeping noise and drafts away.
  • Corrosion resistance – unlike metal doors, our doors are unaffected by environmental conditions, ensuring 100% reliability.

Main drawbacks of outdoor metal doors with MDF

  1. Even if told that the MDF is moisture-resistant, this is often a myth; over time, issues will appear.
  2. Outdoor MDF panels with PVC film are sensitive to sudden temperature changes, sunlight, moisture, and rain. Over time, panels may lose their appearance, swell, or crack. To avoid this problem, we recommend choosing either metal doors with ceramic granite coating from the "Aplot" factory, where all metal parts are covered with aluminum, or PVC and aluminum doors.
  3. During sharp temperature changes in winter, doors may draft, seals may crack (many doors use low-quality rubber seals), and metal may freeze, causing extra maintenance and seal replacement.
  4. Door sagging and the subsequent need for adjustments by professionals, which adds extra costs.
  5. Rust – all metal doors have protective coatings, but even a small mechanical damage can cause rust.
  6. Size limitations – for non-standard dimensions, metal doors have restrictions, unlike PVC and aluminum doors, which can be made in any shape or size according to customer requirements.
